Risk Awareness

Although Furo Racecraft does everything that we can to mimimize risk, there is always a small possibility that damage may occur as fabrication takes place due to the nature of the work. There are a number of things that you should be aware of and steps that you can take to reduce the chances that any damage will occur.

If you'd like to see the measures that we take to protect your vehicle, visit our Attention to Detail page here.

Vehicle Preparation

Give some thought to the area of the car where we will be working, and the nature of the work we'll be doing. Remove any accessories or parts that may present an obstruction. If it it isn't related to the job and it is in the way, it needs to be moved or removed. If you have any questions about the work being performed or need assistance in this area, please give us a call. When taking things apart, it is a good idea to use Ziploc baggies. Use one bag per panel for fasteners, label with a permanent marker, and place them in a box so they don't get lost or misplaced while your car is in the shop. When your car returns, you will know exactly which screws go where. While this may add some extra time to disassembly, it is very worthwhile in the time that it will save you when it is time to put everything back together.

6-Point Rollcage

Remove carpets, seats (but bring along what you will need for fitting door bars), and anything on the trunk floor. If you are running any interior panels other than on the floor, they need to be in place as they may or may not be able to be removed with cage installed. If your vehicle will have a headliner, have it in place before rollcage fabrication begins. If the headliner is not able to be in place, it will likely need to be cut into multiple pieces to be installed after the rollcage is installed.

10-Point Rollcage

Remove carpets, seats (but bring along what you will need for fitting door bars), and anything on the trunk floor. The dashboard will need to be easily removed from the car and be able to be placed on the bench during rollcage construction. We will trim it to fit so that it can be re-installed once the rollcage is in place. Chassis

Full disassembly is required - we need a bare shell only. If it unbolts, unclips, unglues, or unscrews, it needs to be removed.

Back Half

The inside of the vehicle should be empty from firewall back to the rear suspension. Keep loose bolts to a minimum. There should be no brake lines, fuel lines, or electrical wiring from the firewall back. Interior panels that you plan on reusing (door panels, rear side panels, headliner, etc.) should remain in the vehicle.

Rear Suspension

For work in the area of the rear suspension such as torque boxes, control arms, or mini tubs, disconnect brake lines, emergency brake cables, and shocks - or have them loose and able to be easily moved or removed if necessary. Remove or move any fuel lines that are in the way. All suspension bolts should be loosened ahead of time. If it remains in the car, we should be able to take it out quickly and easily (within minutes).

Narrowing the Rear

Our pricing is based on receiving an clean and empty housing, and specific measurements for how wide it should be when completed. Removal and replacement of brackets, brake hardware, gears, axles, and so on is not included in the cost of the job.

Engine Bay

For anything in and around the engine bay such as mid plates, headers, and firewall, all nearby plumbing and wiring should be disconnected. The engine often needs to be removed and reinstalled multiple times during the course of the job, and this should be easy to do without anything getting in the way.
